Fb Merges Messenger With Instagram DMs

Instagram DMs have got a new face thanks to a new integration in Facebook Messenger!

According to a new announcement, Instagram is about to launch a Update on Instagram DMs by “introducing a new messenger experience” in the app.

Thanks to the update, users can use Facebook Messenger Reach yourself on Instagram without downloading the Instagram app, and vice versa.

It also gives Instagram DM users access to more features, including cCustom emoji reactions, vanish mode, and more.

Here is everything you need to know:

A single messaging experience on Facebook and Instagram

Facebook’s plans to do so The integration of messaging via Messenger, Instagram Direct and WhatsApp was announced in January 2019.

And while Facebook only recently started testing the feature, it is set to be made available to everyone using Instagram Messenger over the next few months.

But what does that actually mean and what does it look like?

Once an Instagram user gains access to the new messaging tool, they can communicate with Facebook users (and vice versa) who do not have an Instagram account via the Instagram app.

You can also control where you receive messages and calls; In your chats, in your message requests, or not at all.

What the update means for you

The new integration clearly offers a range of new tools and features as well as better connectivity between Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. But is it worth making this change?

One of the biggest problems emerging from the update is that users’ Instagram and Facebook accounts are too closely connected.

Understandably, some people may not want their “real identity” to be linked or linked to their Instagram account on Facebook.

According to Loredena Crisan, VP of Product Design at Messenger, the team that made the update discussed this before it rolled out.

“We don’t even want to risk the identities being lost across the apps,” Crisan said in a recent statement. That’s why Facebook allows users to do this Turn off cross-app messaging if you want. All you have to do is update your privacy settings.

In any case, the update is currently optional, so users can still log out for the time being. Of course, that could change in the future when Instagram opens the update to users in more countries.

Have you switched to Facebook’s new built-in messenger tool? What do you think of the update?
