Rackspace was the most reliable corporate hosting website as of May 2021, ranking first for the third time in the past 12 months and appearing in the top 10 in the past 12 months. The top six hosting companies have all responded to every request from Netcraft and are ranked based on average connection time. Rackspace had the lowest average connection time of the six, earning it the title of Most Reliable Hosting Company Website in May 2021. Rackspace offers a variety of cloud hosting solutions from 40 data centers on five different continents in America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Second place goes to NYI, which has also appeared in the top 10 most reliable hosting company sites for the past 12 months. NYI offers bare metal, cloud and colocation services from its four US data centers.
Positions three to five were separated by an average response time of only 4 ms and go to Bigstep, CWCS and Webair, respectively. All three of these sites responded to every request from Netcraft, as did ServerStack in sixth place.
FreeBSD ranked second with NYI in May, with the remaining nine sites in the top 10 using Linux.
Netcraft measures and provides the response times of around twenty leading hosting providers. The performance measurements are taken at 15-minute intervals from various points on the Internet and averages over the immediately preceding 24 hours are calculated.
From the customer’s point of view, the percentage of failed requests is more relevant than outages on the websites of the hosting company, as it gives an indication of the reliability of the routing. For this reason, we rank our table according to the fewest failed requests rather than the shortest downtime. If the number of failed requests is the same, the sites are ranked according to average connection times.
Information on the measuring process and current measured values are available.
