Panera and Chef-Activist José Andrés Partner to Fight Hunger and Food Insecurity

Panera Bread and decorated chief activist José Andrés have teamed up to raise awareness of widespread hunger, food deserts and food waste in America. At a launch event on Monday, meals were served to 1,500 people in need in Washington DC, one of the most food-insecure regions in the country, according to the United Way. (It is also Andrés’ adopted hometown).
